Changing of the times
When I started in the retail business, reaching customers was always a challenge. I only had a few avenues to reach that potential customer. I can remember the first ad we took out in the local newspaper a progressive move for the times. I watch my grandchildren use mobile phones, I-pods, internet, to interact with people and products every day. The way people are consuming information has come a long way from black and white photos in a daily newspaper. Things are changing so rapidly, that a small company like mine has to adapt to stay on top of things. We have recently decided to put more energy into our website and online advertising.

150th Anniversary
The 150th anniversary party has come and gone, but the memories will live on forever! I would like to extend my gratitude to all who attended. The event went off without a hitch and was more than we could have ever dreamed of. Even our ancestors made a special appearance!
A special thanks to Governor Granholm's office for the congratulatory letter, Bill Bullard Jr. for the Proclamation plaque, Nancy Cassis for a congratulatory plaque and President George Bush for the Presidential Congratulatory message and picture.
